HISTORIC OLD HEAD TIDE CHURCH SUMMER EVENTS
The Old Head Tide Church will be open to visitors during July and August on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Friends of Head Tide Church warmly welcome everyone to stop by and explore this historic landmark.
Visitors can view the completion of two recent restoration projects: the church spire, completed in 2024, and newly installed plinths on the front façade.
Please note that there will be no regular visiting hours on Saturday, July 11. Instead, the church will host a concert by the Wilson Jazz Duo at 3:00 p.m. The Wilson Jazz Duo is Jenny and Nathan Wilson. Jenny plays piano and flute and Nathan plays acoustic and fretless electric bass, their performances blend jazz standards and original compositions with imaginative arrangements of music by Prince, The Beatles, and Leonard Bernstein. In addition to having studied at the University of Southern Maine, Jenny has deep ties to Maine and its vibrant musical community, having performed flute with Dave Mallett, Chris Neville, Tony Gaboury, Pixie Lauer, and Doreen and Joe Conboy-Barth. She has also brought her piano jazz trio to the state, performing in the Dimensions in Jazz Series and appearing on WGME with news anchor Kim Block.
The Head Tide Church is located at 29 Head Tide Church Road (off Head Tide Road, connecting Routes 218 and 194) in Alna. For more information, visit the Friends of Old Head Tide Church Facebook page or email HeadTideChurch@gmail.com
