New PINE TREE license plates

Maine's 25 year old "standard issue" chickadee license plates will soon be replaced by the new Pine Tree design.

Starting May 1, 2025, when a person registers or re-registers a vehicle, you’ll receive the new Pine Tree Plates.

Starting June 3, 2024, if you want to reserve your current plate number, including vanity and low-digit plates, you can do that for a $25 fee. There are a few options on how to complete your reservation.
