Historic Alna will host the Boston Camerata at Alna’s historic 1789 Meetinghouse on Sunday, July 12, at 2:00 PM.

BOSTON CAMERATA — “FREE AMERICA!”

Founded in 1954 and described by Le Monde as “America’s foremost early music ensemble,” the Boston Camerata brings fifteen musicians to Alna under the direction of artistic director Anne Azéma for a performance of Free America! Early Songs of Resistance and Rebellion (1790–1860) — early American songs, hymns, and marches from the formative decades of the young republic, performed inside a timber-frame Meetinghouse built when this music was new. The same program travels to Tanglewood’s Seiji Ozawa Hall just four days later, on Thursday, July 16.

Sunday, July 12, 2026, 2:00 PM at Alna’s historic 1789 Meetinghouse, 1789 Alna Road, Alna. Doors open at 1:30 PM. Tickets are available in advance at bostoncamerata.org/performances or at the door.

In conjunction with the performance, the Alna Store — a James Beard semifinalist and one of the New York Times’ 50 best restaurants in America — will hold a special evening opening for concertgoers, with à la carte dinner service following the concert. Reservations are available at resy.com/cities/alna-me-me/venues/the-alna-store/events/dinner-after-the-boston-camerata-2026-07-12.
