Alna Food pantry needs your help!
Alna Residents:
The Alna Pantry is desperately seeking dedicated volunteers to assist in meeting the Pantry goal of providing food items to those in need within our Town. The Alna Pantry generally distributes food items on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. However, due to the recent loss of several pantry volunteers, the Alna Pantry has been forced to reduce its hours and will only be distributing food items on the 2nd Wednesday for the months of July, August, and September. This once-a-month distribution will likely continue into the fall and winter unless we can recruit new volunteers. Pantry volunteer duties needed include;
Picking up food items at the Municipal Hunger Prevention Program warehouse in Brunswick. This typically occurs on the Monday before the Wednesday distribution day. Drivers assigned to pick up items rotate, and only drive once a month;
- Packing the food orders in the morning on the Wednesday distribution day, and
- Handing out the food item orders during distribution day.
If you would like to be a dedicated volunteer of the Alna Pantry, please email your contact information to: alnapantry@gmail.com
Thank you for being willing to help out our neighbors!
