Tax Stabilization for Seniors
In 2022, Governor Mills signed LD 290 into law, legislation that will stabilize taxes for people 65 and older who have had a Maine homestead for at least 10 years.  Rent stabilization applications are due to the town office by December 1 each year.  More information and the application are linked here.

Tax commitment books attached below

  • Mil rate of $21.45 per $1000 of assessed value for the current fiscal year was set in July 2023.
  • Last year’s mil rate was $18.95
  • Tax due dates:  9/19/2023 and 9/11/2022 
  • The certified assessment ratio is 90% of Real Estate Market Value
  • Alna’s Fiscal Year is February 1st through January 31st 
  • Town-wide revaluation was last conducted in 2018
